What I Do
Software with staying power.
I build software with a bias toward clarity, durability, and practical results. After decades in the field, the goal is still the same: make useful things and make them well.
Software Developer • Producer • Photographer
I’m Joshua Herbison, a Phoenix-based developer with 37 years of software experience, a creative streak, and a full house that includes my wife, five kids, two dogs, and one deeply opinionated cat.
Born and raised in Tennessee. Now in Phoenix, Arizona.
Spent six years living outside the U.S. for the experience and the stories.
About Me
Hey, I’m Joshua Herbison. I’m a husband, dad to five, and current staff support for two dogs and a cat that clearly believes management is its job.
I grew up in Tennessee, now live in Phoenix, and spent six years living outside the United States somewhere along the way. It turns out changing countries is a solid way to collect perspective.
I’ve been writing software for 37 years, which means I’ve seen a lot of tools come and go and still enjoy building things that are useful, reliable, and fast. Outside of code, I produce projects, shoot photos, and maintain a strong personal commitment to avoiding unnecessary housework.
If I’m not at a keyboard or behind a camera, there’s a fair chance I’m out chasing a golf ball and pretending this round is going to be different.
What I Do
I build software with a bias toward clarity, durability, and practical results. After decades in the field, the goal is still the same: make useful things and make them well.
Creative Work
I also spend time producing content and shooting photography, which keeps me balanced and gives me an excuse to buy camera gear I can absolutely justify.
